Background
This customer wanted to replace their old, polycarbonate conservatory with a tiled conservatory roof. The low, lean to style of conservatory roof meant that the conservatory had very little headroom and felt small and enclosed. They also found it too cold to use in winter, so could only enjoy it for a limited amount of time every year.
A tiled conservatory roof was the answer to all their problems! We could install a new, gable-style tiled conservatory roof to give them some much-needed headroom. A tiled conservatory roof also has excellent insulation, which would keep their conservatory warm in winter.
They started to look for tiled conservatory roofs in Lancashire and came across Lightweight Roofing Solutions. After looking at some of our previous work, they decided to request a quote. Our team went round, discussed what they wanted from their new conservatory and provided a quote. They were happy with it and we started work.
Project Overview
These customers found their current lean-to conservatory was too low and didn’t give them enough headroom. After discussion, we decided to change from a lean to conservatory roof to a gable end conservatory with tiled roof.
A lean to conservatory features a rectangular roof on a slight downwards slant. A gable end conservatory, on the other hand, is more like a typical triangular house roof. This would give the conservatory additional height and make it feel much more spacious.
Instead of cheap polycarbonate roofing, we used the SupaLite tiled conservatory roof. The SupaLite roof provides excellent insulation, with a U Value of 0.15. You can see just how good this tiled conservatory roof is at controlling heat loss, because the ice on the roof hasn’t even melted. That means it kept all the heat in and the cold out – just like it’s supposed to. This was done just in time for Christmas, and it’s so warm in the conservatory that the family are planning to eat Christmas dinner in there.
We also installed a gable window on the triangular side so that the customer could still enjoy lots of natural light. We know how important light is in a conservatory, so we can install windows and skylights into your conservatory roof.
